Another day!

Todays plans, I need to rearrange the living room, its a disaster.  No room to get a wheelchair, or ever letting a person walk through.  Its not messy, just so cluttered with furniture, can't move, and of course they have to have every little thing in here.
I got a blood pressure cuff a few days ago, haven't used it yet, everyone has been going to doctors the last few days (Martin has one this afternoon)  So I am just letting the doctors and nurses do that right now.  I had one years ago, but it got lost in a move.  I just want to make sure everyone is taken care of.
The next thing I need to get is a bathroom scales.
I cleaned out one of my desk drawer boxes (that go on top of a desk or cabinet) just a tiny thing with three drawers and a lift top, nice for inkpens and odds and ends)  I have in it the glucose monitor, and stuff like that.
Well, have too much to do today, so gotta get off here and get to work!!
We are having pork chops and potato salad, and fruit salad with sugar free whipped topping for dessert.
Mo's blood sugar was 357 this morning, I think its just even natural sugar of fruit, she behaved herself yesterday!! Ugh, even the things that are healthy are messing her up, bummers, I feel so bad for her.

Life is Good

Today was a great day!
Mo had a doctors appointment this morning, she she got a shower (thats another story entirely), and we got there, and we both adore her new doctor.  He spent almost an hour talking to her, asking questions, and basically getting her life story, and listening to her.  Yes thats right people LISTENING to her.
I totally recommend this doctor, he is Doctor Bob Arthur on E Washington Street in Indianapolis, In.
He is funny, and very personable.
He took basic cholesterol, blood sugar, those kinds of tests that could be taken right there (her blood sugar was 453, egads!)  He didn't adjust any of her meds, what he wants me to do is keep her on the same insulin, and take her blood sugar a couple of times a day, to see where she is at with it for two weeks.  After that, he will adjust accordingly.  And finally, I have found a doctor that agrees with me that she might be brittle diabetic, everyone else kept telling me she wasn't.  He gave me three referrals to different doctors, an endocronologist, a kidney doctor, and a therapist for her depression.
After that, we went to Sam's Club, and found a few things (and they had samples, so she got to have fun with those!) Got a bag of mixed fruit, some strawberries and cherries, and a box of filet mignon that has the bacon around it, she loves that stuff.
After that, I ran into Walmart real quick, got some sugar free whipped topping, and a couple of over the door shoe racks.  I don't have enough shoes to fill the thing, but I have a habit of throwing things in it anyway.  Once a few years ago, I kept one hanging by my bed, for all the little things use seem to need when you are getting ready for bed, or what not.  Eyeglasses, cell phone, inkpens, little notebooks, stuff that might have been in your pockets, and there was even one hole I had for bills/mail.
We swung by Taco Bell (I know, too fatty, too carby, etc, but eh, sometimes you have to blow it), came home, and while she chowed down, I got the stuff into the house, the dog taken care of, Idiot Dog, (yes, that is his name) had knocked the recliner in front of the front door, and I had a heck of a time getting in!
Actually his name is Ezekiel Galileo, but quite often he lives up to his nickname of Idiot Dog.
Once I finally got to eat, I started in on supper (starting early because it takes time) making potato salad, cucumber salad, and chicken salad.  Just one of those hot days where hot foods just make you go *ew, ick*.

I know I was supposed to be doing something else for supper tonight, but thats the good thing about working out of the home, I basically get to do what I want, and Im de Momma!  (If you are old enough to remember the Dinosaurs, you will understand the reference!)

Tomorrow is Marvins turn at the doctor.  Life is really good, yes, we all have days where we want to pull out every hair in our heads, but the good days totally make up for those days.

You Have GOT To Be Kidding me!

So today was supposed to be a good day, and honestly it was.  I slept (and apparently so did everyone else) til ten, when I got up, Mo had been up for a few minutes, and had egg salad for breakfast (hey works for me!)  I got everyone their meds, etc, and breakfast.  The day went pretty well, I got quite a bit of laundry done, and walked over to Kmart to get stuff for chili.  Its 60 degrees and overcast and a bit on the chilly side.  Then about 430 Tree calls and tells me the van at the shop is ready (Yippie!!).  Its only a few blocks away, so I walk my happy but over there, and they wont accept checks.  URGH! The bank has been giving me a hassle about sending a check/debit card. They say they order it, I wait the few days, it never shows up, I go over to the bank and ask them what is up, and they say it was never ordered, ARGH!! So now I have to wait til tomorrow, get a ride to the bank, get more money out, and THEN finally go get the van.
So I walk back home, and unfortunately I end up jumping all over Mo, because I have caught her eating, even tho basically supper is ready, I just need to finish the cornbread to go with the chili.
Mo is in complete denial of her diabetes, she says she isn't, but she says she refuses to accept that she has it.  Well, Dears that is denial!!
I have had two doctors tell her that she is eating herself to death, she tells me I am crazy, the doctors never said it.  I honestly give up, I can't force her to do anything.  She is an adult, she has her complete faculties, and she is her own power of attorney.  So I can only do my best, not bring anything "bad" into the house, and encourage her to eat the right foods.
But it is a good day, the chili is good, its been a cool day, the heat had been so unbearable, this was a nice end to the week.
Next week is going to be fun, three doctors appointments in three days!  I will be chasing my tail, lol.
